Pinaghahandaan na ng COVID-19 Task Force ang mga protocol violation at posibleng pagtaas ng virus infections ngayong papalapit na ang holiday season sa bansa.

Ayon kay Department of Interior and Local Government Eduardo Año, kinakabahan na umano ang ilang opisyal lalo pa’t ang Pilipinas ang may pinakamahabang selebrasyon ng Pasko sa mundo.

Kinakabahan tayo kasi alam mo naman ‘yung Pilipinas ang sinasabi na may pinakamahabang celebration ng Christmas. So sa ngayon pa lang, we can already see the traffic, people going to the malls. Unfortunately, some citizens will violate the protocols,” pahayag ni Sec. Año.

Samantala, patuloy pa rin ang paalala ng gobyerno gayundin ng health experts sa publiko na sundin ang minimum health standards, at kung maaari, iwasan muna ang social gatherings dahil mataas umano ang posibilidad na dumami ang kaso ng positibong kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa.

Pinayuhan din nila ang mga tao na limitahan lamang sa immediate family ang isasagawang mga pagdiriwang, at iwasan muna ang pag-uwi sa mga probinsya upang makontrol ang pagkalat ng virus.

Umapela rin si Sec. Año sa publiko na habaan pa ang pasensya lalo pa’t aniya, sa susunod na taon pa inaasahang mas magiging maayos ang sitwasyon ng bansa kaugnay ng pandemya.

“We have celebrated Christmas before, so ngayon lang namang 2020. Next year, mayroon na tayong magandang prospect or vaccine, baka babalik na tayo sa bagong normal na mas maluwag,” ani Sec. Año.
