Suportado ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang pagputol ng Department of National Defense (DND) sa 1989 agreement nito sa University of the Philippines (UP) na naglilimita sa pulis at militar sa lahat ng campus ng naturang unibersidad.

“The agreement between the DND and UP that limits police and military presence in all its campuses nationwide did not serve the best interest of public order and security in all 30 years that the accord was in effect,” pahayag ni PNP Chief Police General Debold M. Sinas.

Sa kabila nito, siniguro pa rin ng hepe ng PNP ang pagsunod sa batas ng lahat ng kapulisan para iwas-abuso.
