Pinabulaanan ng Palasyo ang kumalat na balitang ipatutupad diumano ang malawakang lockdown sa bansa mula Disyembre 23 hanggang Enero 3, 2021.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, “fake news” ang balitang ito at wala umanong nagbago sa quarantine classifications na idineklara ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kamakailan.

Hinimok naman ni Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles ang publiko na maging responsable at mapanuri bago mag-share ng impormasyon online.

Alamin ang totoo. Huwag maniwala at huwag po magkalat ng fake news lalo na ngayong panahon. Patuloy lang po tayo maging responsable sa sarili at sa pamilya,” paalala ni CabSec Nograles.

Gayundin ang pananaw ni National Task Force Against COVID-19 Spokesperson retired Gen. Restituto Padilla, Jr. na nagpaalalang suriin muna ang source ng balita bago maniwala sa mga ito.

“Everyone is strongly advised not to believe news or information coming from unverified sources. Please ensure you verify or ask authorities or trusted organizations about the veracity of such information before believing and passing it around. Let us not be instruments of fake news distribution and help our fellow kababayans,” pahayag ni Gen. Padilla.

Kasalukuyang nasa ilalim ng General Community Quarantine ang Metro Manila, Batangas, Lanao del Sur, Davao City, Iloilo, Tacloban, at Iligan. Samantala, nasa ilalim naman ng Modified General Community Quarantine ang natitirang bahagi ng bansa.
