PAMAHALAAN MAS PAIIGTINGIN ANG COVID-19 TESTING SA BANSA

Ayon kay Testing Czar Vince Dizon, plano ng pamahalaan na mas pag-ibayuhin pa ang pagsasagawa ng Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) testing sa bansa. 

Kaugnay rito, sinabi ni National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 Chief Implementer at Vaccine Czar Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr. na may mga pagbabagong ginawa sa vaccination plan ng bansa upang mas marami pang mga mamamayan ang mabakunahan at mas mabilis na maaabot ng bansa ang tinatawag na herd immunity, kung saan malaking bahagi ng populasyon ang may tsansang hindi na tablan ng virus.

Sa isang virtual press briefing, ibinalita ni Dizon na nasa 500,000 antigen test kits ang ipamamahagi sa buong Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, at Rizal sa susunod na dalawang linggo.

“Nagdesisyon po ang IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force) na magdagdag po tayo ng 30,000 antigen tests per day pero limitado lang po ito sa NCR (National Capital Region) Plus, dahil ang antigen tests ay ginagamit lamang sa area na mataas ang prevalence ng COVID-19,” pahayag ni Dizon, na siya ring Deputy Chief Implementer ng NTF Against COVID-19.

Pangunahing pagbibigyan ng naturang antigen test kits ang mga ospital at barangay na may mataas na naitatalang kaso ng COVID-19.

“Ito po ay gagamitin ng mga ospital para i-test ang kanilang pasyente at pati na rin ang kanilang mga healthcare workers. Ito rin po ang gagamitin ng ating mayors para mag-test sa mga lugar, lalong-lalo na ‘yong mga barangay na mataas ang prevalence at mataas ang mga kaso,” saad ni Dizon.

Sa pamamagitan ng nasabing hakbang, mapapaigting ang testing capacity ng bansa ng mula 80,000 hanggang 90,000 tests kada araw, mula sa kasalukuyang 51,000 tests kada araw.

Dagdag pa ng Vaccine Czar ng bansa, tanging antigen test kits na aprubado ng World Health Organization at Research Institute for Tropical Medicine lamang ang gagamitin para isakatuparan ang naturang hakbang ng pamahalaan.
