Muling kinukunsidera ng pamahalaan ang posibilidad na magtalaga ng mga sundalo at pulis upang ipatupad at siguruhing nasusunod ang minimum health standards kontra Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) sa mga pampublikong lugar.

Ito ang sinabi ni National Policy Against COVID-19 Chief Implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr. nitong Lunes, Marso 8.

Ayon sa Kalihim, napansin ng mga otoridad na dumarami na naman ang bilang ng mga Pilipinong hindi tumutupad sa safety protocols ng bansa upang matigil ang paglaganap ng COVID-19. 

“‘Yong mga pulis at saka military, pwede uli nating i-disperse sa mga convergent areas,” saad ni Galvez. 

Naitala rin ng Department of Health ang pagtaas ng bilang ng kaso ng pagkahawa sa virus, na pumapalo sa higit 3,000 kaso nitong huling apat na araw. 

Naiulat din ng ilang mga pagamutan ang pagtaas ng bilang ng mga nao-ospital bunsod ng COVID-19. 

Ayon pa kay Secretary Galvez, binabalak ng pamahalaan na ipatupad ang naturang hakbang habang ginagawan nito ng  paraan upang maabot ng bansa ang herd immunity. Sa herd immunity, mataas na ang posibilidad na maprotektahan ang iba pang mga mamamayan laban sa virus sa oras na malaking bilang ng populasyon ang mabakunahan na. 

Layon ng pamahalaan na makamit ito bago matapos ang taon kapag nabakunahan na ang nasa 70 milyong mamamayan sa bansa.
