PAMAHALAAN SINIGURO ANG MAAYOS AT RESPONSABLENG COVID-19 PROCUREMENT

Siniguro ni National Task Force Against COVID-19 chief implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr. na magpapatupad ang pamahalaan ng istriktong implementasyon ng mga pamamaraan at proseso upang masiguro ang responsable at maayos na pagbili ng mga bakuna laban sa COVID-19.

Ayon sa kaniya, ang proseso ng vaccine procurement ay gagawin sa pamamagitan ng mga kasunduang multilateral ng pamahalaan sa Asian Development Bank (ADB) at World Bank (WB) upang masiguro ang malinaw na dokumentasyon at pagbili ng bakuna.

“We assure the public that it will undergo strict [procedure] considering that all our vaccine procurement will undergo ADB and WB stringent regulatory requirements,” paliwanag ni Galvez sa Senate hearing na ginanap noong Biyernes tungkol sa COVID-19 national immunization program.

Sinusunod din ng proseso ang mga regulasyong ipinatupad sa iba’t ibang bansa ukol sa tamang paggamit at pagbenta ng mga bakuna.

Dagdag pa niya, 80 percent ng kabuuang suplay ng COVID-19 vaccine sa buong mundo ay na-preorder ng mga bansang pinagmulan ng mga bakuna. Ang two percent ay makukuha sa ilalim ng COVAX facility, habang ang natitirang 18 percent ay idinadaan na ngayon sa negosasyon ng mga papaunlad na bansa kabilang ang Pilipinas

“Given there is not enough supply yet, the Philippine national government’s approach is to pool national volumes to get a seat at the negotiating table and secure the most number of vaccines at the best prices with our partners in the private sector and the LGUs (local government units),” paliwanag niya.
