PCSO NAMIGAY NG PHP34-M NA MEDICAL ASSISTANCE SA 5K INDIGENTS

Naglabas ng mahigit sa Php34 milyon ang Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) bilang medical assistance sa mahigit 5,082 benepisyaryong indigent sa buong bansa. 

Sa isang pahayag kahapon, Abril 25, sinabi ni PCSO General Manager Royina Garma na ang kabuuang pondong ito ay naibahagi sa mga benepisyaryo mula Abril 19 hanggang 23. 

Ang Medical Access Program (MAP), dating kilala bilang Individual Medical Assistance Program (IMAP), ay dinisenyo upang dagdagan ang medical assistance na nakalaan para sa mga Pilipinong indigent, partikular na para sa chemotherapy, dialysis, gamot, at hospital confinement. 

Ang pondo ng programa ay nagmumula sa kita ng mga palaro ng PCSO sa buong bansa.

“Rest assured that the agency will find ways to meet the medical and health-related needs of all Filipinos, especially the marginalized,” saad ni Garma. 

Kabilang sa mga benepisyaryo ang 717 indibidwal mula NCR na nakatanggap ng Php6.7 milyon sa kabuuan at 1,289 indibidwal mula Northern at Central Luzon na nabigyan ng Php8.9 milyon.

Nasa Php6.9 milyon naman ang naipamahagi sa 1,284 indigents sa mga rehiyon ng Southern Tagalog at Bicol. Sa Visayas, nakapagbigay ng medical assistance ang PCSO sa 952 indibidwal na nabigyan ng Php6.1 milyon habang 840 indibidwal sa Mindanao ang nakatanggap ng Php5.6 milyon.
