Ayon sa pinakahuling inilabas na opisyal na pahayag ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), hindi muna nito tataasan ang singil na kontribusyon mula sa mga miyembro nito.

Ito ay matapos ipahayag ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang kanyang pagnanais na isantabi muna ng ahensya ang naturang plano nito habang kinakaharap pa ng bansa ang Coronavirus disease 2019 o COVID-19.

Bunsod nito, kokolektahin pa rin ng tanggapan ang tatlong porsiyento ng buwanang sahod ng kanilang mga miyembro, sa halip na itaas ito sa 3.5% na contribution rate. 

Kaisa anila sila sa layunin ng Pangulo na maibsan ang hirap na dinaranas ng mga Pilipino sa gitna ng pandemya.

Saad pa ng PhilHealth, ang nasabing desisyon ay mananatili hanggang sa makapagpasa ang Kongreso ng batas na nagpapahintulot na ipagpaliban ng kanilang ahensya ang naturang premium adjustment na nakasaad sa Universal Health Care Law.
