Pinas nakikipag-usap na sa Israel para sa posibleng donasyon ng bakuna kontra COVID-19

Kasalukuyan nang nakikipag-usap ang Pilipinas sa pamahalaan ng Israel hinggil sa posibilidad na makapagbigay ng Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines ang huli para sa mga Pilipino.

“Yes meron po (usapan tungkol sa donasyon ng bakuna). Meron kaming arrangement, tinatawagan na namin ang embassy natin sa Israel,” paglalahad ni Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez Jr. nitong Huwebes, Marso 18, 2021.

Iginiit din ni Sec. Galvez na nananatili ang magandang samahan ng dalawang bansa. 

“So, it (ang bakuna) can be given through COVAX [COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access facility] or can be given as donation to us,” dagdag pa ng Kalihim. 

Hindi naman nagbigay ng detalye si Galvez kung anong brand ng bakuna ang maaaring ibigay na donasyon ng Israel o kung ilang doses ng COVID-19 vaccines ang kanilang posibleng ibigay sa Pilipinas. 

Nitong Miyerkules, Marso 17, ay inanunsyo ng pamahalaan ng Israel na nabakunahan na nito ang higit sa 30,000 Pilipinong kasalukuyang naninirahan sa kanila. Libreng naturukan ng bakuna ang mga caregiver, mga nag-aaral ng agrikultura, at mga kawani ng embahada. 

Samantala, nauna nang nakapagbigay sa bansa ng Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines ang China. Ayon kay Galvez, inaasahan ding darating sa buwang ito ang pangalawang batch ng Sinovac na naglalaman ng karagdagang 400,000 doses ng bakuna.
