Nasa PhP7,945,000.00 marijuana ang nahulog sa kamay ng mga pulis sa magkakasabay na raid na isinagawa ng PNP sa mga tagong marijuana farm sa Cordillera mula Pebrero 18-19.
Sa naturang opensiba ng Cordillera police, limang plantation sites na may tanim na 21,600 fully grown marijuana plants sa total land area na 2,550 square meters ang nasalakay at nawasak sa Brgy. Loccong Tinglayan, Kalinga sa tulong na rin ng PDEA.
Kasama na rito ang 30 kilo ng dried marijuana stalks at 1 kilo ng marijuana seeds na nasabat din ng mga awtoridad.
“Let me reiterate that police operations against cultivation, production, and trafficking of Marijuana will continue without let-up because under Philippine laws, Cannabis in the form of plants, products and its derivatives is still a dangerous drug as defined under Republic Act No. 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” diin ni PNP Chief Police General Debold M Sinas.
Nakuha ang impormasyon ukol sa illegal plantations mula sa dalawang suspek na arestado sa isang buy-bust operation ng Special Operations Unit 2, PNPDEG (lead unit) kasama ang PDEA Isabela, Isabela PIU, SAF Kalinga, at 2nd Coy KPMFC nitong Pebrero 18.
