PRRD APRUBADO NA ANG P2.5B PONDO PARA SA PAGBILI NG KARAGDAGANG SUPLAY NG COVID-19 VACCINES

Inilahad ni Department of Budget and Management Secretary Wendel Avisado noong Sabado, Hunyo 5, na inaprubahan na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang dagdag na pondo para sa Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines.

“Kaka-approve lang ng ating Pangulo ng P2.5 billion equivalent to $56 million chargeable against the 2021 contingency fund,” pahayag ng Kalihim.

Ayon pa kay Budget Secretary Avisado, aabot sa P13 bilyon ang contingency fund ng pamahalaan sa taong ito.

Dagdag pa ng opisyal, ang naturang P2.5 bilyong pondo ay gagamitin sa pagbili ng apat na milyong doses ng COVID-19 vaccines. Kasama na sa nasabing halaga ang logistical at administrative costs na gugugulin para sa pagkuha ng nasabing suplay ng bakuna.

Sinabi rin ni Secretary Avisado na ang naunang budget na P82.5 bilyon ay hindi sapat para maipatupad ang programa ng pamahalaan sa pagbabakuna kontra COVID-19. 

“Sa madaling sabi, hindi lang po talaga ₱82.5 billion ang gagastusin natin ngayong taon para sa pagbili ng vaccines kaya pati contingency fund kailangang gamitin. Out of the P70 billion allocation for vaccine procurement, P59.39 billion na po ang nare-release natin sa DOH (Department of Health),” saad ni Avisado.

Nais ng pamahalaan na mabakunahan na ang 70 milyong Pilipino pagsapit ng katapusan ng taon.
