PRRD: ‘MGA PILIPINO DAPAT PAYAGANG MAKAUWI SA GITNA NG LOCKDOWN’

“No amount of lockdown, no amount of police power can stop a Filipino citizen from going home lalo na pauwi, lalo na pauwi. Saan mo patirahin yan?”

Ito ang pahayag ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa kanyang public address noong Lunes, Marso 22, 2021, sa gitna ng kanyang pagsusulong na hayaan na malayang makabalik sa kani-kanilang mga lugar ang mga Pilipino. 

Nagpahayag ng pagkabahala ang Pangulo tungkol sa kaligtasan ng mga mamamayan kung wala silang mapupuntahan sa gitna ng mga umiiral na travel restrictions sa bansa. 

Kaugnay rito, naglabas ng bagong resolusyon ang Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases na nagsasaad na lahat ng mga Pilipino, maging mga overseas Filipino worker (OFW) man o iyong mga Pilipinong manggagaling lamang sa ibang bansa, ay nararapat na pahintulutang makabalik ng Pilipinas. 

Sakop ng naturang bagong kautusan ang ilang mga dayuhan. Hindi na kasama sa umiiral na travel ban sa bansa ang mga diplomat, mga dayuhang nasa gitna ng medical repatriation, mga dayuhang marino na nasa ilalim ng “green lanes” program na may kinalaman sa pagpapalit ng mga tripulante, mga asawang dayuhan at anak ng mga Pilipino, at iyong mga may kinalaman sa emergency at humanitarian cases. 

Bago pa ang nasabing kautusan ay naunang ninais ng task force na tanging mga OFW lamang ang papayagang makapasok ng bansa sa gitna ng paglobo ng bilang ng mga kaso ng Coronavirus disease 2019 o COVID-19 sa Pilipinas.
