PRRD sinigurong ginagawa ng pamahalaan ang lahat upang ibangon ang ekonomiya ng bansa

Siniguro ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kahapon sa publiko na ginagawa ng pamahalaan ang lahat upang ibangon muli ang ekonomiya ng bansa matapos itong bumagsak ng 9.5 percent noong 2020.

Sa kaniyang pre-recorded public address noong Lunes, inamin ni Duterte na ang ekonomiya ng bansa ay pababa nang pababa dahil sa kinakaharap na pandemyang dulot ng COVID-19 ngunit ganito din daw umano ang pinagdaraanan ng maraming bansa ngayon.

“We are sinking deeper and deeper pero hindi lang rin tayo . . . Pero we are trying our very best to keep us afloat. Ang ekonomiya natin, mga kabuhayan, masama talaga. Biro mo naman, ilang taong walang trabaho. The economy of the Philippines is in bad shape but as I have said, it is not only the Philippines who suffers. We, in the world, are suffering with everybody,” saad niya.

Dagdag pa niya, dalawang bilyong piso ang nawawala ngayon sa bansa araw-araw dahil sa epekto ng pandemya, ayon na rin kay Department of Finance secretary Galvez. 

“According to the Secretary of Finance, araw-araw, ngayon hanggang matapos ‘tong Covid, araw-araw we are losing PHP2-billion na pera para sana ‘yun sa mga tao, the Filipino workers, would have earned that money kung ang ekonomiya natin gumagalaw,” paliwanag niya.

Noong Enero 28 lamang ay iniulat ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) na ang ekonomiya ng bansa na nasusukat sa gross domestic product (GDP) nito ay bumaba sa 9.5 percent noong 2020. Itinuturing itong pinakamababa mula noong World War II.

Sa kabila nito, inihayag naman ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque ang paniniwalang makakabangon muli ang bansa ngayong taon. Inaasahan aniyang lalago ang ekonomiya sa 6.5 hanggang 7.5 percent ngayong 2021 at 8 hanggang 10 percent sa 2022 kung magpapatuloy ang unti-unting pagbukas ng ekonomiya.

“Inaasahan natin next year kung patuloy ang pagbubukas ng ating ekonomiya, ang estimate ng ating economic planners ay magiging positive tayo,” saad niya.

Pinaalalahanan din niya ang publikong magpatuloy sa pagsunod sa health protocols tulad ng pagsusuot ng face masks, face shields, paghuhugas ng kamay, at iba pa.
