Nakatanggap na ng unang dose ng Sinopharm vaccine nitong Lunes si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

Aniya, hinintay umano muna niya ang “go signal” mula sa kanyang doktor na siyang nagrekomenda ng naturang bakuna sa kanya.

“I feel good, and I have been expecting this shot, vaccination a long time ago,” pahayag ni Pangulong Duterte.

Si Health Secretary Francisco Duque III ang siyang nagturok ng bakuna sa Pangulo sa ipinakitang livestream sa Facebook page ni Senator Bong Go.

Samantala, nilinaw ni Food and Drug Administration Director General Eric Domingo na kabilang si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa nabigyan ng compassionate special permit (CSP) ng ahensya upang makakuha ng bakuna mula sa Sinopharm.

“Ito ‘yung [permit na] hiningi ng PSG dati bago pa dumating ang mga bakuna dito sa Pilipinas. Mayroon silang donation from China at hiningan ito ng special permit para nga maprotektahan ang Presidente at mukhang ‘yun din po ang ginamit sa ating pangulo kagabi,” pahayag ni Domingo.

Ayon pa kay Domingo, kabilang din umano sa nabigyan ng CSP ang mga asawa at partner ng mga miyembro ng Presidential Security Group.

Ulat din niya, mayroon nang tatlong kumpanya na nagpahayag ng kanilang intensyon na mag-apply para sa emergency use authorization ng Sinopharm vaccine subalit wala pa ring natatanggap na requirements ang FDA mula sa mga ito sa kasalukuyan.
