Public transport, tigil muna sa MECQ areas

Pansamantala munang ititigil ang pagpasada ng mga pampublikong sasakyan matapos ianunsyo ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kagabi ang pagbabalik sa modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) ng buong Metro Manila at iba pang karatig probinsya. 

Starting midnight tonight, ‘yong mass transport natin ay i-i-stop. Ang papayagan natin d’yan ay shuttle services, point to point. Ine-encourage natin ‘yong paggamit ng bike. Motorcycles will be allowed,” paliwanag ni Secretary Eduardo Año. 

Dagdag pa niya, pinag-aaralan pa ng mga lokal na pamahalaan kung papayagan ang pagpasada ng mga tricycle alinsunod sa itinakdang guidelines ng kanilang lokal na pamahalaan at ng Department of the Interior and Local Government.

Tanging ang mga pampublikong shuttle na nakalaan para sa frontliners at mga opisyal sa ilalim ng permitted industries ang maaaring bumiyahe. Hinimok din niya ang mga kumpanya na maglaan ng shuttle services para sa kanilang empleyado sapagkat tigil operasyon din maging mga istasyon ng tren.

May permiso rin ang mga pribadong sasakyan na pag-aari ng mga opisyal sa ilalim ng permitted sectors, subalit mahigpit na ipatutupad ang “two-person-per-row policy”. Papayagan din ang paggamit ng bisikleta at e-scooter.

Ipinaalala pa ni Sec. Año na muling ipatutupad ang paggamit ng quarantine passes at tanging ang mga authorized person outside of residence o APOR lamang ang papayagang lumabas upang bumili ng mga pangangailangan simula bukas, Agosto 4 hanggang sa Agosto 18.

Ibinalik sa MECQ ang Metro Manila, Central Luzon, at CALABARZON matapos aprubahan ni Pangulong Duterte ang “timeout” na hiling ng mga health workers.

Kaugnay nito, umabot na sa mahigit 100,000 ang tala ng kaso ng COVID sa bansa.
