Sinabi ng PNP nitong Pebrero 10 na pulitika ang motibo sa likod ng pagsabog bandang 8:00 p.m. noong Martes sa Poblacion Jaen, Nueva Ecija dahil sa pinag-aagawang mayoral seat ngayon sa munisipalidad.
Pangalawa na ang naturang insidente na kinakitaan ng pagkakatulad sa nauna nang pagsabog at power blackout sa lugar noong Disyembre 20 ng nakaraang taon.
Kaugnay nito, ipinag-utos na ni PNP Chief Police General Debold Sinas kay PNP Regional Director for Central Luzon Police Brigadier General Valeriano De Leon na isangguni ang pangyayari sa DILG Regional Office para palamigin ang sitwasyon.
Sa kasalukuyan, nagbigay direktiba na rin ang hepe ng PNP na siguruhing walang sagupaang magaganap sa pagitan ng dalawang magkatunggaling grupo at kanya-kanyang supporters ng mga ito.
“The PNP will not take sides on this political contest, but will be firm and decisive in enforcing the law and implementing legal orders,” saad ng PNP Chief.
