Inanunsyo ni National Task Force Against COVID-19 deputy chief implementer Vivencio Dizon sa isang Laging Handa public briefing nitong Marso 2 na gagamiting COVID-19 vaccination centers ang nauna nang quarantine facilities.

Ayon sa kaniya, pinag-uusapan na ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) at LGUs ang posibleng conversion ng quarantine facilities kasabay ng pagsisimula ng national vaccination program ng gobyerno. 

Gayunpaman, nilinaw ni Dizon na sa ngayon ay mananatili munang isolation centers ang naturang quarantine facilities. “Naghahanda pa rin tayo just in case may pagtaas sa kaso. Pero sa ngayon as is muna tayo.”

Dagdag pa niya, maaaring gamitin ng LGUs ang quarantine facilities bilang evacuation centers kapag natapos na ang pandemya.

 Ayon sa DPWH, 509 healthcare facilities na ang natapos noong Enero 4 pa ng taong ito kung saan 292 ay nasa Luzon, 133 ay nasa Visayas, at 84 naman ang nasa Mindanao.
