Nailigtas ang isang Chinese kidnap victim sa isang rescue operation nitong Enero 22 sa Brgy. Holy Spirit, Quezon City matapos na sapilitan umanong ipasok sa isang itim na sasakyan at hingan ng mga kidnapper ng PhP20-milyong ransom.

Patay ang apat na kidnappers ni Zhi Fu sa inilunsad na operasyon ng PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) matapos matanggap ang sumbong mula sa kasama nito sa UP Town Center na si Li Cheng.

“These kidnappers are remnants of the Waray-Waray Group employed by the Chinese syndicate for kidnapping activities,” sinabi ni PNP Chief Police General Debold M. Sinas.

Gamit ang isang mobile phone app at telepono ni Li, natunton ng AKG ang pinagdalhan sa biktima sa Brgy. Holy Spirit. Nang magpadala muli ng mensahe ang biktima ukol sa lugar kung saan iaabot ang ransom ayon sa kanyang mga kidnapper, inilunsad na ng AKG ang rescue operation kasama ang QCPD.

Pinaulanan diumano ng bala ng mga kidnapper ang papalapit sa area na mga AKG agent na nagresulta sa palitan ng putok na ikinatigok ng mga suspek.

Tatlong handguns, isang rifle, at shabu ang nakuha sa mga ito.
