Minamadali na ng Department of Energy (DOE) ang magiging resulta ng pag-aaral tungkol sa paggamit ng nuclear energy sa energy mix ng bansa bilang bahagi ng National Commission.
Ito ang sinabi ni DOE Secretary Alfonso Cusi sa budget hearing nito sa Senado.
Plano kasi nila na maisumite ito sa Pangulong bago magpalit ng taon.
Kasunod nito ay ang pagpapatibay ng national policy, feasibility study at regulatory body. Sa katunayan, tatlong beses ng nagpulong ang Inter-Agency Commitee para rito.
Bagamat hindi direktang sinabi ni Cusi ang pagbuhay sa Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP), pinag-aaralan na ito ng Russian at Korean experts. Ayon sa mga eksperto, pwedeng buhayin ang pasilidad pero ‘di pa napapag-usapan kung magkano ang gagastusin ng pamahalaan para gawin ito.
Kailangan pa rin nito ng masusing pag-aaral lalo’t may mga kontrang buhayin ito kabilang na ang lokal na pamahalaan.
