Saliva test sa mga turista aprubado na ng Boracay IATF

“We proposed together with the LGU [local government unit] Malay that the saliva test should also be considered as part of the testing protocol of the province of Aklan and LGU Malay and we are happy to report that in this meeting, the proposal for the use of the saliva test has been approved.”

Ito ang inanunsyo ni Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores nitong Huwebes, Marso 18, tungkol sa pag-apruba ng Boracay Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) sa paggamit ng Coronavirus disease 2019 o COVID-19 saliva test para sa mga turista na bibisita ng Boracay Island.

Ayon sa Gobernador, tatanggapin ng Boracay IATF ang mga pagsusuring isinagawa ng Philippine Red Cross at iba pang mga pasilidad na kinikilala ng Department of Health at ng Food and Drug Administration.

Maglalabas din ng advisory upang maipagbigay-alam sa iba’t ibang airline companies ang agarang implimentasyon ng naturang desisyon. 

Noong Oktubre ng nakaraang taon ay muling nagbukas ang Boracay sa mga turistang nanggagaling sa mga lugar na nasa ilalim ng general community quarantine, bagama’t ang mga bisita ay obligadong sumunod sa mahigpit na health protocols ng lugar, tulad na lamang ng pagpipresenta ng pre-booking accommodation at negative swab test result 48 hanggang 72 oras bago bumiyahe papunta sa isla. 

Ayon kay Miraflores, simula noon ay umakyat na ang bilang ng mga turista ng mga 1,000 kada araw mula sa dating 40, na kadalasang nagmumula sa Metro Manila. 

Dagdag pa ng opisyal, inaasahan din nilang muling makatanggap ng mga dayuhang turista sa taong ito at makapagpatupad ng travel bubble, lalo na sa kanilang mga pangunahing bisita mula South Korea at China.
