Handa umano si Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez, Jr. na isa sa mga unang mabakunahan ng mga paparating na COVID-19 vaccine sa bansa, kahit na aniya ang bakunang gawa ng bansang Tsina.

“Sa akin nga po kung ano ang mauna na vaccine, I will volunteer na I will be the first one to take it to show to the public na talagang very safe yung mga vaccine na kinukuha natin,” pahayag ni Sec. Galvez.

Handa umano silang ipakita na ligtas, epektibo, at aprubado ng vaccine panel expert ang mga bakunang parating sa bansa, kabilang na ang Sinovac.

“Opo, ganun po ang gagawin natin. Pakikita po natin na napaka-safe po yan. ‘Yung aming mga vaccine expert panel, talagang sabi po, isa ang Sinovac sa mga safe,” ani Sec. Galvez.

Nilinaw din ni Sec. Galvez na maaaring makapili ang mga health workers ng bakunang kanilang matatanggap.

“Puwede po kasi yan po, voluntary po ‘yan. Meron po tayong voluntary consent. Pero ina-advise po namin na kung ano ‘yung pinakaunang dumating ay iyon po ang puwede nating gamitin,” ayon kay Sec. Galvez.

Samantala, sa inilabas na Pulse Asia survey, lumabas na kalahati sa buong populasyon ng PIlipinas ang ayaw mabakunahan ng COVID-19 dahil sa pangambang hindi ito epektibo.

Sa kasalukuyan, wala pang aprubadong bakuna ang Food and Drug Administration para sa emergency use, isa sa mga requirement bago ipatupad ang mass vaccination. Tanging Pfizer, AstraZeneca, at Gamaleya ang kumuha ng emergency use authorization sa bansa.
