SENADO, NAGHIHINTAY NA SA PAGPASA NG KAMARA SA 2021 NATIONAL BUDGET

Naghihintay na ang Senado na maisumite sa kanila ang approved 4.5 trillion national budget na nakabinbin ngayon sa Kamara.

Dahil kasi sa pagpapalit ng liderato sa House of Representatives, hindi pa natatalakay sa 3rd reading ang national budget.

Ayon kay Senador Vicente Sotto III, kahit sino pa man ang Speaker ng Kamara, kailangan na itong maisumite sa kanila sa lalong madaling panahon.

“All the HOR has to do is to approve the budget on third reading then print and submit to us regardless who the Speaker is,” sabi ni Sotto.

Maaalalang sinuspinde ni noo’y House Speaker at Taguig-Pateros Representative Alan Peter Cayetano ang sesyon sa mababang kapulungan matapos maaprubahan sa ikalawang pagbasa ang national budget.

Balak ni Cayetano na aprubahan ito sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa sa pagbubukas ng sesyon sa November 16 pero nagpatawag ng special session si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte mula Oktubre 13 hanggang Oktubre 16 para tapusin na ang pagdinig sa national budget. 

Bago pa man ito magsimula, nagpulong sa isang sesyon ang mayorya ng mga mambabatas sa labas ng Batasang Pambansa na nagresulta sa pagkakahalal kay Marinduque Representative Lord Allan Velasco bilang bagong House Speaker kapalit ni Cayetano.
