Sinabi ni Taguig City Mayor Lino Cayetano noong Sabado, Mayo 1, na handa ang lungsod na magbakuna ng hindi bababa sa 5,000 indibidwal araw-araw at naghihintay lamang ang lokal na pamahalaan nito ng ‘go’ signal para simulang bakunahan ang A4 category sa priority list na kinabibilangan ng essential workers. 

“Kahit nag-ro-roll out na tayo sa mga manggagawa, kahit ngayon ho 5,000 a day, kaya na ho natin. Hindi natin pababayaan. May special lanes pa rin ang mga seniors at ang may comorbidity,” saad niya sa isang media briefing.

Ayon kay Cayetano, mahalaga ang pagpapabakuna upang makapagligtas ng buhay at makapaghanapbuhay. 

“Kung ang hanap po natin buhay para maligtas tayo o ang hanap natin hanapbuhay para makapagtrabaho tayo, ang isa sa mga pinaka-importante nating gawin ay magbakuna,” dagdag niya. “Hindi na po debate ang buhay o hanapbuhay. Pareho ho ‘yang importante sa pagbabakuna.”

Sinabi ni National Task Force Against Covid-19 Deputy Chief Implementer at testing czar Secretary Vince Dizon na mataas ang exposure sa COVID-19 na hinaharap ng essential workers. 

“The government, through vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez, Jr. is doing its best to make sure that the Philippines will get enough supplies of coronavirus vaccines, to protect the Filipino people against the dreaded disease,” saad niya.

Ayon pa kay Dizon, patuloy ang training para sa vaccine management sa NCR.
