Ayon sa Department of Health (DOH), kinakailangan pa ring sumailalim sa Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) testing at quarantine procedures ang mga Pilipinong pauwi ng bansa  kahit pa sila’y nabakunahan na laban sa virus. 

Sa isang virtual briefing, sinabi ni Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire na wala pa aniyang sapat na ebidensya na nagpapatunay na talagang napipigilan ng kasalukuyang COVID-19 vaccines ang paglaganap ng naturang virus. 

“So, hanggang hindi pa kumpleto at hindi pa sufficient ang ebidensya to finally conclude that these vaccines can really prevent one person from being infected and that person from infecting others, then we will retain our protocols,” pahayag ni Vergeire, na tagapagsalita rin ng Kagawaran. 

Sa kabila nito, nauna namang sinabi ng DOH at ng Department of Science and Technology na ligtas at epektibo naman anila ang COVID-19 vaccines sa pagbibigay ng proteksyon sa indibidwal upang hindi ito magkaroon ng severe o malalang kaso ng COVID-19.
