Ibinahagi ni Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez, Jr. ang pagpunta niya sa bansang India ngayong Marso upang ayusin ang kasunduan sa ilang vaccine manufacturers doon.

“Ang susunod po iyong Novavax, pagpunta po namin sa India this coming [March] 9 to 12, pipirma din po kami ng aming supply agreement,” pahayag ni Galvez.

Ayon sa kanya, importante ang lakad na ito dahil sa mga kailangang pirmahang supply agreement, gayundin sa gagawing negosasyon sa Novavax at AstraZeneca upang mapaaga ang pagdating ng mga bakuna nito sa bansa.

Bukod pa rito, inaasahang maaayos na rin ang supply agreements ng bansa sa Moderna at Johnson & Johnson sa mga darating na araw. Layon din umano ng gobyerno na kumuha ng 20 milyong doses mula sa Moderna at limang milyong doses mula sa Johnson & Johnson.

Inamin din ni Galvez na importanteng magkaroon ng vaccine stockpile ang bansa bago isagawa ang pagpapatupad ng Modified General Community Quarantine sa bansa gayundin ang face-to-face classes sa Mayo.

Ngayong Lunes sana inaasahang darating ang mahigit 500,000 doses ng bakunang gawa ng AstraZeneca mula sa COVAX facility subalit naantala ito dahil umano sa kakulangan ng suplay.
