Dedbol ang isang diumano’y militant extremist terrorist sa isang engkwentro sa mga pulis at militar sa Brgy. Baungis Lantawan, Basilan nitong Abril 23.

Patay si Poloy Hallang alyas “Commander Jeck” nang makipagbarilan sa police commandos ng 54th Special Action Company, NISG-WM, CIDG9, NICA-9, Basilan PPO, at Marine Combat Intelligence Company-4 na maghahain sana ng kanyang warrant of arrest na inisyu ng 9th Judicial Region RTC Br. 2, Isabela City nitong umaga ng Biyernes.

Sangkot din diumano si Hallang sa Daulah Islamiya-Abu Sayaff Group sa ilalim ni Radullan Sahiron alyas “Putol”.

Kasama rin diumano ang natigok na suspek sa pagpatay sa isang army officer noong 2014, sa pagpatay kay Nonong Jainal na kapatid ng dating barangay chair ng Brgy. Calugusan, Lantawan noong 2017, at sa pagpatay kay CAFGU militiaman Hasim Jalil, Ibrahim Jalil, at isang “Ponie” noong 2017.

Nakatakas naman ang isang Ronnie Hallang na subject din ng warrant of arrest, samantalang tatlong SAF troopers na sina Police Corporal Paypee Palpal, Police Corporal Spencer Lee Anungos, at Police Corporal Ariel Dulipas ang sugatan matapos ang putukan.

Nakuha mula sa lugar ang 5.56mm rifle na may limang magazine assemblies at live ammunition.
