Patay sa isang police combat operation ang dalawang miyembro ng Kapatiran (Umali/Cotic) Group, directorate ng intelligence-listed private armed groups na sangkot sa gun-for-hire, illegal logging, at extortion sa Surigao del Sur at Davao Oriental, nitong Enero 31 bandang 4:45 p.m. sa Brgy. Caatihan Boston, Davao Oriental.

Tigok ang Kapatiran Leader na si Jelfin O. Cotic a.k.a Jerome, at Kapatiran Member Jolan O. Cotic a.k.a Jodan Cotic/Dandan nang nanlaban ang mga ito sa arresting team ng PNP na naghahain ng warrants of arrest dahil sa mga kasong murder at attempted murder.

Number 1 Most Wanted Person din ng PRO 13 si Jelfin noong Q2 ng 2020.

Sangkot din diumano ang dalawang suspek sa pagpatay kay John Consegra Tuba a.k.a Dodoy, na miyembro ng Kapatiran na napaulat na nagsumbong sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) na nagresulta sa pagkakumpiska sa mga troso na nasa kamay ng mga suspek.

Kasama rin diumano ang mga suspek sa pagpapaputok sa SAF at isang Arnel Liwanan Salomon, kasama ang ilang DENR personnel, sa kasagsagan ng isang recovery at retrieval operation ng illegally cut logs sa Brgy. Bugac Lingig, Surigao del Sur.

Nakuha sa bahay ni Jelfin ang isang M16 rifle at isang 9mm pistol, habang sa bahay ni Jodan naman ang isa ring M16 rifle.
