Arestado si Joel Maglangit bandang 7:10 a.m. ng mga operatiba ng Intelligence Special Operations Division Intelligence Group, kasama ang Regional Intelligence Unit 10 (RIU10), Cagayan de Oro City Police Station, Talipapa Police Station 3, at Quezon City Police District (QCPD).
Inaresto si Maglangit sa bisa ng warrant of arrest na inisyu ni Hon. Solayman G. Macata-on ng RTC Br. 24 ng Cagayan de Oro City noong Enero 25, 2010 dahil sa kasong pagpatay sa isang Eddie Apus ng Zone 3 Brgy. Baikingon, Cagayan de Oro City noong Oktubre 24, 2009.
Miyembro diumano si Maglangit ng Flores Robbery/Hold-Up Group sa Cagayan de Oro.

Nasa temporary custody ng Station 3 QCPD si Maglangit bago iharap sa korteng maglilitis ng kaso.
