Sinabi ng AFP nitong Pebrero 9 na hindi maaaring diktahan ng CPP-NPA ang uri ng sasakyang magdadala ng vaccines sa mga liblib na lugar sa bansa.
Ito ang naging tugon ng Sandatahan sa naiulat na naging suhestiyon ni Marco Valbuena, CPP-NPA chief information officer, na gamitin ang Red Cross kaysa mga sasakyang militar sa transportasyon ng vaccines.
Sinabi rin ng AFP na hindi dapat umaktong marangal ang CPP-NPA sa pagpayag na padaanin nang walang aberya ang mga sasakyan ng pamahalaang may dala-dalang vaccines para maihatid sa iba’t ibang vulnerable areas sa ‘Pinas.
“As a matter of fact, they should have done so in many instances in the past instead of killing military personnel who were both security and workhorses in bringing relief goods to our calamity-stricken kababayans in the geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas,” pahayag ni AFP Spokesperson Major General Edgard Arevalo.
Hinimok ng AFP ang CPP-NPA na huwag samantalahin ang pandemya para isalba ang nasira na nilang imahe, bagkus ay makipagtulungan na lang at padaanin ang mga sasakyan nang walang antala.
“We ask them to stop their propaganda against the AFP which, unlike them, has proven its commitment—time and again—by innumerable selfless acts during calamities and disasters, pandemic, and other health emergencies,” dagdag pa ng AFP Spokesperson.
