Layon umano ng gobyernong tapusin ang vaccination rollout program nito sa taong 2023 kahit na matindi ang kompetisyon ng iba’t ibang bansa sa pagkuha ng sapat na suplay nito.
Ayon kay Department of Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, kung sakaling maantala ang pagdating ng mga bakuna, mayroon pang hanggang 2023 ang gobyerno upang mabakunahan ang publiko.
“That’s why we indicated in our plan for this vaccine deployment program that it’s going to be until 2023 so that we have that wide margin if in case the delivery will not be on time,” saad ni Usec. Vergeire.
Dagdag pa niya, “We are eyeing that we can be able to reduce this (number of COVID-19 cases) or have good outcomes based on these vaccines hopefully by 2022, earlier than the 2023 target date.”
Kaugnay nito, matagumpay na naisagawa ang simulation ng pagdating ng bakuna kung saan hindi umabot sa isang oras ang transportasyon nito gamit ang isang truck na mayroong cold storage facility papunta sa Research Institute for Tropical Medicine.
Wala naman umanong epekto ang tagal ng biyahe sa kalidad ng bakuna kung masisiguro ang tamang temperatura nito ayon kay Usec. Vergeire.
Hindi pa kumpirmado kung kailan darating ang 117,000 doses ng bakuna mula sa COVAX facility sa bansa subalit handa na umano ang gobyerno sa gagawing vaccination rollout kung darating na ito ngayong linggo.
