Pinaghahandaan na ng gobyerno ang posibilidad ng pagtanggi ng ilang indibidwal na makuha ang ikalawang dose ng bakuna matapos mabakunahan ng unang dose nito.
“We are expecting that. That is part of the things we are trying to be ready with. That’s why we have this database and master list so we can track them and encourage them,” tugon ni Department of Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire.
Aniya, bago pa mabakunahan ang isang indibidwal, kailangang ipaliwanag ng magbabakuna na makakamit lamang ng bakuna ang “maximum potential” nito kung dalawang dose ang matatanggap ng bawat indibidwal.
“We know how the vaccines work, especially these vaccines with two doses, that you need two doses for you to be fully protected. We need to give them that information so they can understand,” ani Usec. Vergeire.
Dagdag pa niya, “Now when that time comes and they don’t come back for their schedule for their next dose, we need to track them and encourage them to receive the second dose.”
Iginiit ding muli ng opisyal na ligtas at epektibo ang bakunang ipamamahagi sa bansa at pasado umano ito sa Food and Drug Administration kung kaya’t wala umanong kailangang ipag-alala ang publiko sa kalidad nito.
“The confidence should be there because the government is ensuring that no vaccine will come in the country which will not go through a regulatory process,” pagtitiyak ni Usec. Vergeire.
