Iminungkahi ni Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez, Jr. na kailangang magtalaga ng vaccine security at safety officer sa bawat lokal na pamahalaan upang masigurong walang masasayang na bakuna.

Ito ay matapos maiulat na nagkaroon ng vaccine wastage sa ilang lugar sa bansa. Sa Cotabato, nasayang umano ang 348 Sinovac vaccines matapos mawalan ng kuryente sa lugar noong Mayo 7.

Kaugnay nito, nagkaroon din ng insidente sa Quezon kamakailan kung saan lumubog ang isang bangkang pinaglagyan ng mga bakuna matapos itong tumama sa isang poste.

Sa kabila nito, hindi naman nasayang ang mga bakuna na natagpuang nakabalot sa dalawang layer ng plastic.  

“Binigyan po namin ng strict directive na dapat mayroong vaccine safety and security officer. Iyon po ang tumitingin every six hours na ang level of cold chain ay hindi na-be-break,” pahayag ni Sec. Galvez.

Ayon kay Sec. Galvez, responsibilidad umano ng vaccine security at safety officer na inspeksyunin ang mga bakuna ng apat na beses sa loob ng isang araw na mayroong anim na oras na pagitan upang siguruhin na nakapaloob nang maayos ang mga bakuna sa cold chain facility.

Nagpaalala naman muli ang Department of Health at Department of Energy sa mga lokal na pamahalaan na tiyaking maayos ang pagkakalagay ng mga bakuna sa cold chain facilities sapagkat nananatiling limitado ang suplay ng bakuna sa bansa.
