Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, kasama ang mga supermarket sa kinakailangang sumunod sa price cap o limitasyon sa presyo ng baboy na kamakailan lamang ay idineklara ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Paliwanag ng tagapagsalita ng Pangulo, ang nasabing hakbang ay ipatutupad dahil karamihan sa mga supermarket ay nakakakuha ng imported na baboy sa mas murang halaga.
“Nangako po ang ating DTI… magkakaroon ng label na imported ang baboy na ibinebenta sa supermarket at kapag ito po’y imported na baboy nga, subject na rin siya sa price cap,” pahayag ni Spokesperson Roque.
Sa ilalim ng Executive Order 124 ng Pangulo, sa loob ng 60 na araw, hanggang sa P270 kada kilo lamang maaaring ibenta sa Metro Manila ang kasim at pigue, hanggang P300 kada kilo naman ang liempo, at P160 bawat kilo naman para sa dressed chicken.
