Nadiskubre ng pinagsamang pwersa ng PNP-NCRPO at PDEA ang isang marijuana farm na tinatayang nasa PhP2.2-milyon sa loob ng isang condo sa Taguig ngayong Mayo.

Pagmamay-ari diumano ng isang retired US Air Force serviceman at ka-live in partner nitong Pilipina ang unit kung saan natagpuan ang mga paso ng marijuana.

Inaalam na rin ng mga pulis kung miyembro ba ng mas malaking sindikato ang mga suspek sa likod ng marijuana farm.

Iimbestigahan na rin ang posibilidad na maaaring lumipat na ang operasyon ng mga sindikato ng iligal na droga sa pagtatanim ng marijuana plants sa loob ng condominiums.

“We need to intensify our intelligence gathering kung ganito na ba ang style ngayon ng mga sindikato ng droga, lalo na sa marijuana. Posibleng may iba na ring gumagawa nito dahil mahirap mahuli kung ganitong nasa loob ng condominium,” pahayag ni PNP Chief PGEN Guillermo T. Eleazar.

Aminado rin ang PNP Chief na tumaas ang demand sa naturang iligal na droga.

“Our PDEA chief, Director General Wilkins Villanueva also said last year that shabu users have shifted to marijuana and even ecstasy due to our intensified operations na rin. Kaya nga po nag-focus rin tayo sa pagpipigil nito at talagang tuluy-tuloy ang operasyon natin dito,” paliwanag ng hepe ng PNP.

Binalaan naman ni PNP Chief ang mga sindikato na huwag pakasiguro dahil kayang sabayan ng PNP ang high-tech nilang operation.
