P2.4-M HALAGA NG SMUGGLED SODIUM CYANIDE AT MEDICAL EQUIPMENT, NASABAT NG CUSTOMS KASONG KRIMINAL SA IMPORTERS AT BROKERS, NAISAMPA NA

Nakasuhan na ng kasong kriminal ang dalawang importers at customs brokers ng mga ito na sangkot diumano sa iligal na importasyon ng sodium cyanide at medical equipment na nasa PhP2.4-milyon.

Haharap sa kasong paglabag sa CMTA, CMO 09-2015, RA 6969 (Toxic Substances and Hazardous and Nuclear Wastes Control Act of 1990) na ipinatutupad ng DAO 1997-39 (Chemical Control Order for Cyanide and Cyanide Compounds), DAO 2005-27, EMB MC 2005-003, at Art. 171-172 ng RPC ang P63 Construction Supplies Trading dahil sa pagpasok ng 180 drums ng sodium cyanide (98%) sa Manila International Container Port (MICP) noong Pebrero 23, 2021 nang walang import permit o clearance mula sa EMB ng DENR.

Haharap naman sa kasong paglabag ng CMTA, RA 6969 na ipinatutupad ng DAO 2013-22 (Revised Procedures and Standards for the Management of Hazardous Wastes), FDC Circular 2017-03, at Art. 171-172 ng RPC ang Brodlie Medical Systems, Inc. dahil sa misdeclaration ng gamit ng medical equipment na ipinasok noong Disyembre 29, 2020 sa MICP.
