SMUGGLED LUXURY CARS, NAHARANG NG BOC SA MAYNILA

Naharang ng mga opisyal ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang tatlong smuggled na luxury vehicles na nagkakahalaga ng Php16 milyon sa Manila International Container Port (MICP) kahapon, Hunyo 9.

Ayon kay Alvin Enciso, chief ng Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS-MICP), kasama sa mga sasakyang nasabat ay isang puting 2021 Land Cruiser, isang pulang 2016 Nissan GTR, at isang black na 2020 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Coupe. 

Ang kargamento ay naka-consign sa Adfinest Marketing Corp.

Nang makatanggap umano ng impormasyon tungkol sa kargamento ay agad nag-isyu ng order si MICP District Collector Romeo Allan Rosales upang masuring mabuti ang laman nito. 

Ang tatlong luxury vehicles ay natagpuang nakatago sa likod ng mga gamit na gulong. Isang warrant of seizure and detention (WSD) ang agad na inisyu sa kargamento matapos ang pagsusuri. 

Isang masususing imbestigasyon ang isasagawa kasabay ng pagsasampa ng kaso laban sa Adfinest Marketing Corp. para sa posibleng paglabag sa Republic Act 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) at kakulangan ng awtoridad mula sa Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) para mag-import ng mga gamit na sasakyan. 

“We will continue to monitor these shipments because there has been a series of smuggled vehicles trying to come into the country. That has been evident this past month alone,” saad ni Enciso.
