Ayon kay Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez, Jr., handang maglabas ang pamahalaan ng mas malaking halaga para mapadali ang pagdating sa bansa ng mga doses ng bakuna laban sa COVID-19.
“Dadagdagan po ‘yong prices para mapaaga po. Nagne-negotiate po tayo, kahit mapamahal nang kaunti, na magkaroon ng early delivery ng second and first quarters,” pahayag ni Galvez.
Ayon pa sa Kalihim, inaasahang darating ang mas maraming suplay ng bakuna sa second half ng 2021.
Kabilang sa mga suplay ng bakuna na darating sa bansa bago sumapit ang katapusan ng Marso ay ang 600,000 doses ng COVID-19 vaccine mula sa Sinovac na ibibigay ng bansang China, 3.5 milyong doses mula sa Pfizer at AstraZeneca na manggagaling naman sa COVAX facility na pinangungunahan ng World Health Organization, at iba pang suplay ng bakuna na sinuguro na nang Department of Health.
Sinabi rin ni Galvez na kasalukuyan nang isinasapinal ng pamahalaan ang vaccine supply agreement nito sa kumpanyang Moderna.
