Upang maprotektahan sila laban sa banta ng Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), pinapayagan na ang work from home setup sa mga buntis na pulis.
Ito ang inanunsyo ni Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Debold Sinas matapos makunan ang dalawang babaeng pulis mula sa National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) na nagpositibo sa virus.
Ayon kay General Sinas, naganap ang naturang insidente noong siya pa ang director ng NCRPO.
“We have four experiences when four of our female personnel tested positive. Two of them suffered miscarriage and their husbands also tested positive. So my directive now is that pregnant policewomen are automatically allowed to work from home. We cannot bear incidents wherein our pregnant personnel [will have] difficulty breathing,” pahayag ni Sinas.
Sa mga magpopositibo naman sa COVID-19, ipinag-utos ng pinuno ng PNP na dalhin sila sa isolation facilities upang mabigyan ng karampatang atensyong medikal.
Ayon pa sa Heneral, sasagutin ng PNP ang lahat ng gastos na gugugulin ng empleyado habang naka-quarantine ito.
Base sa naitala ng PNP, mahigit 8,000 kapulisan ang nagpositibo sa virus, at 26 na ang binawian ng buhay mula rito. Gayunpaman, mataas naman ang recovery rate nila mula rito, kung saan 7,637 na kapulisan na ang gumaling mula sa sakit.
Sa kasalukuyan ay nasa halos 400 ang aktibong kaso ng COVID-19 sa pwersa ng kapulisan at lahat ng mga ito ay nagpapagaling na sa medical facilities ng PNP.
